Best Times to List on Etsy: a decidedly UN-scientific research project

It’s a question every Etsy seller has asked themselves. It’s a subject we’ve talked about before. It’s not an easy question to answer, but the ramifications of getting it right could be huge.




Recently on the Etsy Forums, a forum thread was started with the idea that there really is no rhyme or reason to listing times. As is often the case with forums, most of the comments were from others in agreement, so there wasn’t much real discussion.
But it got me to thinking: There must be a pattern. There absolutely has to be peak times on Etsy. I wonder if we can figure them out.

The 2011 Holiday Indie Craftstravaganzaa will be held the first weekend of December, Saturday December 3rd, from 10am till 6pm. We plan to bring back our indoor Vintage Market as well as the clothing Swap-o-Rama-Rama with Gretchen Elsner, plus music, food and drinks from the Caledonia.

News from Craftstravaganzaa! 2011 Holiday Market + MORE!

Helllooooo Everyone!

It's been awhile, longer than we would have liked, but after working around a few issues, Craftstravaganzaa is back with not one but TWO exciting shows in the works!

First off, we are pleased to announce that we have been asked by Athens PopFest to curate an arts and crafts show for a special event they are having in conjunction with their music festival in October. We will join FLUKE! Comics Fest and the Secret Record Swap at the Classic Center on October 15th for a wonderful day of indie music and craft shopping. This will be our first indoor show, so it will be different from our outdoor shows, but it will have advantages for many of you, including a lower cost and easier set up (see details below). Also, it is going to put the Craftstravaganzaa name and our other events into the minds of a whole new group of folks through the POPFest and Classic Center promo materials, which will go out to over 12,000 people. There will be a limited number of tables, so we hope many of you will want to take advantage of this opportunity to do an unconventional show among a diverse group of like-minded folks.

To answer so many of the emails we have been getting, yes, we have a date for our Holiday Show!  It will take place on the first weekend of December, Saturday December 3rd. As many of you know, we have had some issues with Prestige Parking in the past over the use of the lot, but after looking at some alternatives and many discussions with various people, we are very happy to say that we will remain in our original location with all of its many advantages. We plan to bring back our indoor Vintage Market as well as the clothing Swap-o-Rama-Rama with Gretchen Elsner, plus music, food and drinks from the Caledonia. We just love that corner space, and know that many of you do as well, so we look forward to seeing lots of faces old and new for our Holiday market.

In other news, we have enlisted the help of someone who we think is going to be a great addition to our team, and her name is Lauren Benbrook. She will be answering emails and assisting with many aspects of running this show, including being present at events and giving input on future developments with Indie Craftstravaganzaa. We look forward to having her around and we know all of our vendors will appreciate this addition as well. So, welcome aboard Lauren!

Now for the details on these shows:

POPstravaganzaa (in conjunction with PopFest)
  • takes place October 15th from 10am til 6pm at the Classic Center--set up from 8am to 10am
  • you will be provided with 8 ft tables (no covering) for a fee of $45, application fee of $5
  • you may share a table with 1 (one) other person
  • you must stay for the duration of the entire event
  • applications will be accepted through a different email please: popstravaganzaa@gmail.com. Payments must be made through paypal to this email address: athensindiecraftstravaganzaa@gmail.com. Payment will total $50.
  • applications should include your name, email, business name, 3 jpegs of your work or a place where it can be viewed online
  • deadline to apply is September 15th

Indie Craftstravaganzaa Holiday Market
  • takes place Saturday December 3rd on the corner of Clayton & Pulaski Streets from 10am til 6pm, set up is 8am-10am
  • nothing will be provided, booth spaces are 10ft by 10 ft and you are encouraged to bring a tent
  • booth fee is $95.00, application fee is $15 for a total of $110
  • you may share with up to 2 (two) other people for a total of 3 people per booth
  • you must stay for the duration of the entire event
  • applications will be available on our website very soon, and all instructions and stipulations will be included therein--we will make an announcement as soon as applications go up
  • deadline to apply will be Monday October 24th
