Colors, textures, and forms found in the natural world inspire my work with clay, especially the contrasts of bright / neutral, rough / smooth, and rounded / flattened found in the landscapes of forests and coasts. It is my belief that objects handmade with thoughfullness and care make our lives a little more special by reminding us of the beauty of the extraordinary world around us. Tableware or freestanding sculpture, my intention is to bring some of the beauty of the natural environment into the home.
